Embrace Your Age, Embrace Your Wisdom

I had the pleasure of working with Blackbird Salon Owner, Jennifer Holmes and hair and makeup artist Sara Fraser with Sara Fraser Beauty on a recent client feature of Deborah. I’ll admit, sometimes as a creative, I get into a creative rut…spend a day with these ladies, and that is sure to change!

Are you available to do a mini shoot in my salon?

If I'm being honest, when Jennifer asked about doing a shoot in her hair salon I panicked! I mean I had only insta stalked her until then…and if you haven’t seen her studio, you need to check it out! I don’t know what it is about leaving the comfort of my studio for another studio that is so scary, but, ‘Sure! I’d love to Jennifer! Let’s do it!’

OMG You Look Amazing

As women, we hear this, but sometimes we don’t really let the words sink in. Deborah…HOLY SMOKES! You look amazing! Sara is an artist and created the most subtle soft glam look for Deborah and when she was done, I could not get over just how stunning Deborah looked, but more importantly how Deborah felt going into the shoot!

Little Black Dress

One of the biggest questions I often get is, ‘what do I wear?’ and since this was Jennifer’s vision, I let her take over that department. Y’all, if you’re ever struggling on what to wear, a simple black dress, a statement necklace and earrings, and a fun scarf and jacket can go a long way! I am in love with all these images we were able to create with a few staple items!

What’s my age again?

Age is not just a number; it’s a testament of time to the incredible journey of life. It tells a unique story of experiences, challenges, and growth, but often as a society, we try to let this age define us. Life is precious and every day is a chance to make it extraordinary. I’m thankful Jennifer set up this session for Deborah. It was so much fun and she absolutely rocked the photoshoot and I am filled with so much joy when I look back at these photographs. A portrait is powerful and taking the time to enjoy a day of just being you is amazing! I hope when Deborah and her family look back at these photographs, they are reminded of her life and legacy and enjoy these portraits for years to come! Time to embrace ACT 4!
